I am graduated as Master in Physiotherapy and Motor Rehabilitation at the University of Ghent (1997). I am married and have 2 children. In the past I was a gymnast for many years and became Acro Gym trainer. At the moment, I am a long distance runner and train tree times a week.
My interest in hand therapy was sparked through close collaboration with a hand surgeon. Over the years, I have completed numerous courses, advanced trainings and conferences related to hand rehabilitation.
I am a certified Belgian Hand Therapist. I founded my own group practice, Hands4you in 2001. I also work as a self-employed hand therapist at AZ Sint-Lucas Hospital in Ghent. I am a lecturer at ACREHAB and SmartEducation and facilitate courses on wrist and hand pathologies. Furthermore, I am a member of the certification committee of the professional association Belgian Hand Therapists (BHT). My mantra is 'One Recovery Goal', emphasizing shared objectives between all parties involved in the rehabilitation process, patients and medical professionals. I strongly believe in a multidisciplinary approach and close collaboration between experts.
