Hello, I'm Katrien Gevens. I am a certified hand therapist and owner of KINEKA, my private physiotherapy practice in Merksem (Antwerp), which I have run with great passion since 2000. I graduated as a Bachelor in Physiotherapy in 1993 at the Coloma Institute in Mechelen.

Sport has always played an important role in my life. Competing in tennis and softball sparked my interest in human movement and led me to physiotherapy.

Between 2016 and 2025, I combined my private practice with a part-time position at ZAS Palfijn Hospital in Merksem, focusing on shoulder and hand rehabilitation. Close collaboration with surgeons and continuous training in Belgium and the Netherlands strengthened this expertise. Since October 2025, I work full-time in my practice and continue to invest in education and international congresses.

I am delighted to join the BHT board as Symposium Coordinator. In this role, I am committed to contributing to high-quality scientific meetings by helping to select inspiring speakers and building strong collaborations with sponsors, with the aim of offering valuable and engaging symposia for our members.
